Song of the Lioness- Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora PierceThis was an interesting book. It's about twins, a boy and a girl. The girl, Alanna, wants to become a knight, while her brother, Thom, wants to go to the convent to learn magic. So, Alanna disguised as a boy, goes to the castle to become a knight. This book, the first of a quartet, chronicles her adventures becoming a page. The others follow her until the last one, in which she becomes a knight. I'm not a big fan of Tamora Pierce, but I really liked this book. The style is similar to Brandon Sanderson's books, which I dislike, but this book was full of adventure, friendship, and mystery.
Rated: PG, for some "uncomfortable" themes, not necessarily inappropriate.
