Wanna know a secret?

I am a hopeless romantic. Always have been, always will be. Sadly, it never seems to happen to me. I listen to all my friends about how "oh, this boy's so cute", and "oh, this one has nice eyes", and all that cute romantic junk. It just has never happened to me- at least not in my reality. My dreams are chock full of it, let me tell you. Sometimes I wonder if I'm afraid to fall in love. It's not that bad- I'm only 14 going on 15, why would I have a boyfriend? At least I'm following my parent's instructions.

The one thing I cannot stand at all about teenage romance is how perfect it seems to be. You watch all these cute chick flicks about finding the perfect guy the first time you go on a date, but in reality, that's not how it works. I see most of my friends that are in a relationship, and they're generally pretty miserable. This is jr. high, people! Not everything is going to be perfect!

In conclusion, I am a hopeless romantic that is romantic-less. I hope that someday I will find love, but not today. :)

Olivia and Emilee, my good friends, and Spencer (who I do not have the privilege of knowing) were at Youth Conference.
I imagined their conversation went a little something like this:

Emilee: I'm bored

Spencer: What are we gonna do about it?

Olivia: I KNOW!!!!

Olivia: Let's eat goldfish!

At this innocent point in the story, you might think that Olivia means eating the beautiful Goldfish crackers made exclusively by Pepperidge Farm.
You, my friend, are sadly mistaken.

I am talking about, real, genuine, swimmingly innocent goldfish.
The kind that move.

Church Ball

I've decided that I don't like church ball much.

It's fun and all, but I don't much like getting lectured.

Not because I don't like learning- on the contrary, I love improving my game.

It's when I know I should be doing something and I don't do it and I'm lecturing myself about it already and then somebody tells me to do the exact thing I'm lecturing myself to do.

That's when I get really ticked off.

Last night was Blue and Gold.
It was ...interesting.
We got shipwrecked.

I got taken home early,
So that I could finish my homework.

Today, I woke up early for my piano lesson.
I still have a headache.

I'm actually really excited for Flute Choir.
I'm arranging a new piece.
An medley called "Irish Blessing".

Day 30- One last moment

I've been reading back through some of my posts from the past month.

I realize that I'm one of the weirdest people in the world.

To me, at least.

Day 28- Something that you miss

I miss skying my toes until my calves are shaking.

I miss drilling hours and hours of... well... drills.

I miss waking up the inhabitants of our fair city @ 9 am.

I miss Robert Oswald Fitzwilliam III.

I miss stretching in uniforms that you CANNOT GET DIRTY NO MATTER WHAT!

I miss memorization.

I miss my *crippled* section leaders.

I miss being the flute.

I miss racing the pit down to the practice field.

I miss the practice field.

I miss my section.

I MISS MARCHING BAND!!!!

Day 27- Your favorite place

I've got a lot of favorite places.

Number One, naturally, is:Manila, Utah.
3 miles south from the Wyoming border.
3 hours away from civilization.
Home. ;)

Numero Dos:

Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Number Trois:

The Azores, Portugal. (Terceira specifically)
1500 miles west of Lisbon.
4000 miles east of New York, New York.


But my very most favorite spot right now,
Right at this moment:Because it's warm in front of the fire. And I'm freezing. :)

Day 26- Your fears

Oh joy.
I can honestly say that there are some things that I will never do.
Like:

Jumping out of a plane
Eating raw fish
Jumping out of a plane....
You get the idea.

I've never broken a bone,
So I think that would be scary.

But my biggest fear is....
I won't tell you! Bwahahahahahaha!

It's because it sounds stupid,
And wussy,
And sissy,
And, it would be admitting it to myself.
And that would just be sad.

Day 25- A first

Hmm...

I can't say that last night was a first for crying,
Because I didn't cry.

I can't say that last night was a first for slow dancing,
Because I didn't.

I can't say that last night was a first for freaking out,
Because I've done that plenty of times.

I can't say that last night was a first for eating junk food till you die,
Because I've done that before, too.

I have to say that last night was a first,
Because-

I got to bow onstage.

I was completely blinded by a camera flash.

I was squashed inside of Mecham's great huge group hug.

I actually full-out, ignore-the-world-completely meditated.

And, I think,

I fell in love with one of the greatest plays of our time. :)

I love you guys.
Thanks so much for making this one of the best experiences of my life.

Day 24- Something that makes you cry

you know that I don't cry much.
It takes a lot to get me to cry.

Day 21- Another moment

Ah.
Well....
It's 8:48 pm, MDT.
All I want is to go to bed.
Not happening.
I've still got an English essay to write.
I've got two conflicting events on Tuesday, Feb. 7th,
and I'm fighting myself for consciousness.

But then I realized....
We have our shirts!
Tomorrow we will wear pajama pants.
Friday: Ties.
It's going to be awesome.
Thinking about it makes me float.
:)
That is my moment!

Day 20- This month

Well....

THIS month hasn't been very eventful,

considering it's only Feb. 1st.

So.....

January was exciting.

We did solo performances in band.

Some were recognizably better than others.

I had rehearsal starting on Jan. 11.

(btw- Once Upon a Mattress runs Feb. 3, 4, and 5 @ 7 pm, doors open @ 6:30. There's also a special matinee starting @ 2 pm)

3rd Term started this (last) month.

I lost P.E. and Foods.

I gained Cross-Training and Teen Living.

Those of you who have taken those classes know that there's not a huge difference between these classes.
